Granada and Its Monuments to Headline the First Two Stages Before Reaching Jaén and Córdoba

First Route Preview for This 15th Edition

The 15th edition, taking place from February 24 to March 1, 2025, will be unlike any previous event, as it marks the first time in the 15-year history of Andalucía Bike Race by GARMIN that a new Andalusian province will join the route.

Granada, with its historic neighborhoods, the Albaicín district, the UNESCO World Heritage site of the Alhambra, and the Sacromonte trail, will be the stars of the initial two stages. We will start from the heart of Granada, at the Palacio de Congresos, to bring the city closer to all participants. Each stage will set off from the city’s central hub and pass through emblematic areas, taking riders close to the Albaicín, one of Granada’s oldest neighborhoods, and the Sacromonte trail, the birthplace of flamenco. Here, participants will encounter caves where “zambras,” traditional flamenco dances, were and still are performed, giving everyone a chance to explore Nazarí culture in the afternoons after the stages are completed. Additionally, we will circle the Alhambra and ride along well-known paths and climbs familiar to the locals, adding a uniquely local touch to the event.

From February 26, Jaén will host the next two stages, which will focus on the Pegalajar and Mancha Real mountain ranges. The third stage, similar to the 2024 edition, will be one of the most demanding due to its physical and technical challenges. The fourth stage will center on El Neveral, with some elements from the previous edition but in a slightly shorter format, allowing riders to recover from the previous day and prepare for the upcoming Córdoba stage. This area, though familiar to many, promises to surprise with its endless trails, including some new additions. Riders should finish early enough to travel to Córdoba, the next stage of the journey.

Córdoba will once again crown the winners of this 15th edition of Andalucía Bike Race by GARMIN. Just like last year, suspense will last until the end, as the race will conclude with an individual time trial (XCT). Following last year’s success and positive feedback, this initiative will be repeated. What’s more, Córdoba will welcome us on Andalucía Day, a holiday in the region, allowing locals to show their enthusiasm for cycling and for the event, filling the trails with cheering crowds to encourage the riders along their journey.
