Andalucía Bike Race by Garmin will premier the UCI Mountain Bike Marathon Series

The UCI has published the final revised calendar

The International Cycling Union (UCI) has published the revised calendar of the new exclusive Mountain Bike Marathon Series where Andalucía Bike Race by Garmin will be responsible for the premiere of this new category that will consist of only 8 international competitions, from 7 different countries.

In Spain only Andalucía Bike Race by Garmin is in the calendar, and shares the privilege with the prestigious Absa Cape Epic being the only two stage races that have a place in this exclusive calendar.

Thus, the Series will start on May 17th in Andalucia and will finish 5 months later in Cape Town.

There will be six one-day XCM events on the new series’ 2021 calendar and two stage races, which are among the most iconic and longstanding events on the UCI International Mountain Bike Calendar. Races will have a specific start order and a general classification will be determined at the end of each competition.

The UCI Mountain Bike Marathon Series will continue to be a qualification pathway to the UCI Mountain Bike Marathon World Championships, either from the individual events or the overall classification.
