Córdoba once again hosted the Skoda Super Stage in this Andalucía Bike Race by Garmin 2025, delivering a thrilling fifth stage with a brutal route through Cordoban lands.
The final two stages are now in Córdoba, with the queen stage of the Andalucía Bike Race by GARMIN, featuring 68 kilometers and 1,360 meters of elevation gain on Andalusia Day. The fifth stage, the Skoda Super Stage, was shortened by 10 kilometers due to expected harsh weather conditions, though the riders were ultimately granted some respite. Passing through Cerro Muriano, Santa María de Trasierra, and along the Guadalmellato canal, the stage wound through the Cordoban Sierra and its endless trails, leading riders to Los Morales, a well-known section of the race, before heading to the Parque de la Asomadilla, where the finish line was set.
"We wanted to break the race as soon as possible. We tried at the beginning, but with just the two of us pulling and a big group behind, it was tough. On the final climb, that was the moment. Winning at home is truly special," they said after an emotional celebration at the finish.
Just a few seconds behind, David Valero and Tiago Ferreira of the BH Coloma Team reinforced their bid for a top-three finish, while Fabian Rabensteiner and Casey South of the Torpado Kenda FSA Factory Team secured third place, maintaining their overall lead in the Andalucía Bike Race.
"It was a really tough stage, with constant climbing and descending. We were exchanging the lead and maintaining a strong pace until the end," they said at the finish.
In second place, Meritxell Figueras and Claudia Peretti of the Cannondale Protour Olympia Team pushed hard throughout the stage and felt increasingly strong as they progressed. Antonia Daubermann and Daniela Höfler finished ten minutes behind the runners-up, rounding out the podium of the Skoda Super Stage.
The queen stage of the Andalucía Bike Race has left behind spectacular scenes from Córdoba’s capital. Tomorrow, the final stage of the fifteenth edition will take place—a time trial that will determine the winners of this historic edition.
