The first edition of the Andalucía Gravel Ride was successfully held this morning in Córdoba. Under the umbrella of the Andalucía Bike Race, this non-competitive gravel cycling event brought together mountain bike enthusiasts for a pioneering race format in the region—one that is rapidly growing in popularity within the cycling community.

Nearly one hundred participants completed a circular 63-kilometre route featuring almost 1,000 metres of elevation gain. Finishing times ranged from two and a half to five hours. The course combined sport, nature and a passionate cycling community, taking riders along gravel tracks, rural roads and natural trails representative of the Córdoba landscape, delighting fans of the discipline.

The event started from Avenida Al-Nasir, the same location used for the Córdoba stages of the Andalucía Bike Race by Garmin. Riders then headed towards Guadalcázar, continuing through natural surroundings until reaching La Breña Reservoir, one of the most scenic highlights of the route. The course then passed through Almodóvar del Río before tackling the Cuesta del Reventón, one of the most demanding sections of the day, finishing at Parque de la Asomadilla.

In addition to amateur cyclists, well-known figures from the racing circuit such as Mónica Calderón and Miguel Muñoz took part, eager to enjoy a clearly marked and specially prepared course for gravel riding. The sporting offering was complemented by a range of amenities designed to enhance the overall experience of this fast-growing discipline.

The Andalucía Gravel Ride completed a weekend full of cycling in the city of Córdoba, which also hosted the first edition of Andalucía Bike Kids. This event, focused on young riders, coincided with the arrival of the Andalucía Bike Race in the city, giving children the opportunity to enjoy a healthy experience in a professional setting. Overall, the Andalucía Bike Race continues to expand its complementary programme, offering mountain bike enthusiasts new and exciting experiences.
