The Andalucía Bike Race by Garmin is entering its final stretch following the Škoda Super Stage. Córdoba hosted the longest and toughest stage of the race, where David Valero and Marc Stutzmann claimed their third victory of this edition, as did Natalia Fischer and Claudia Peretti in the women’s race.
In the men’s category, David Valero and Marc Stutzmann made a strong statement with another commanding win. The Klimatiza Orbea duo controlled the stage from start to finish, keeping their rivals firmly in check. Their winning time of 2:37:34 allowed them to further extend their lead in the overall standings and approach the final stage with a very difficult margin to overturn.
In the women’s category, Natalia Fischer and Claudia Peretti secured their third consecutive victory, virtually sealing the Elite Women title. Despite a crash involving Peretti, the duo delivered another outstanding performance after setting a very high pace in the first half of the stage. They eventually crossed the line in 3:11:39, opening up nearly a ten-minute gap over the second-placed team.
Today’s Škoda Super Stage was the queen stage of this edition: 71 kilometres and 1,400 metres of elevation gain in the most demanding and challenging day of racing. The start led riders along the Guadalmellato canal towards Trasierra. In the upper section, competitors faced continuous climbs and descents across the Arenales tracks, Las Jaras and the Golf Club area, combining fast rolling sections with flowing singletracks. The return to Córdoba came via the descents of Los Morales and Santo Domingo, before a fast finish at Parque de la Asomadilla.
The men’s podium was completed by brothers Lorenzo and Nicolás Samparisi of KTM Spada by Brenta Brakes. Klimatiza Orbea Team secured a second double podium, with Luis Francisco Pérez and Samuele Porro once again taking third place for the second consecutive stage. In the women’s race, Mónica Calderón and Tessa Kortekaas of Massi ISB Sport finished second after a strong comeback in the final section, overtaking Adelheid Morath and Sandra Mairhofer in the closing straight, with the LeeCougan-Basso duo completing the podium in third place.
The Andalucía Bike Race by Garmin will conclude its 16th edition tomorrow with a short but explosive 40-kilometre stage. Designed for skilled riders on fast and technical singletracks, the stage will decide the final stage victory. The start will send riders towards Linares, where the day’s main climb begins at Loma de los Escalones, passing through the legendary and demanding Arrastraculos section. From there, the route heads towards Cerro Muriano and Los Villares, linking fast trails, high-speed sections and short climbs that will keep the race alive from start to finish. The stage will return to Córdoba via the descent of Las Conejeras and once again through Los Morales and Santo Domingo, before finishing at Parque de la Asomadilla.
