Miguel Muñoz, has signed for the BUFF® SCOTT MTB team after being runner-up in Spain’s MTB Marathon (XCM) championship

The cyclist from Córdoba, Miguel Muñoz, 25, has signed for the BUFF® SCOTT MTB team after a season where he was runner-up in Spain’s MTB Marathon (XCM) championship and also entered the discipline’s World Championship.

"The truth is that this change will make my sports career evolve”, explains Miguel Muñoz, who highlights, among other aspects, the calendar he has for the 2018 season. "I hope to grow as a cyclist and be able to learn from all my colleagues" , assures Muñoz.

The Cordovan Mountain Biker is very complete although its strengths are the downhills and the flats. He’s fixed the spotlight on the BUFF® stage of the eighth edition of the Andalucía Bike Race presented by Shimano, on the fourth day of competition, on its land and on the Day of Andalusia. "I like demanding and fast stages, and I know quite well the route of the BUFF® stage”, says the Cordovan.

Andalucía Bike Race presented by Shimano is one of his main goals for this season and due to its change of team, he hopes to make it to the Top 10 in the overall standings. “It's one of the best MTB stage races worldwide, not only because of the very high level of Mountain Bikers from around the world, but also because of the good organisation and management of the event, where there will be nothing missing for the riders to enjoy the best spots in Andalusia", continues Muñoz.

For Miguel Muñoz the change to an individual format has meant improving his chances for the overall standings. "Competing individually always gives you more options, you reduce the chances of technical breakdowns and bad days. In addition, they are faster and more demanding races", explains Muñoz, making clear which format is his favorite.

We’ll see Miguel Muñoz in action in a few days and especially on February 28th in Córdoba, when the BUFF® and queen stage of Andalucía Bike Race presented by Shimano is raced.
