"I expect a lot of rivalry but we are prepared”

Hans Becking, tenth of the UCI Ranking, debuts in Andalucía Bike Race presented by Shimano

Dutch Hans Becking will race Andalucía Bike Race presented by Shimano for the first time. For the two-time Dutch champion and expert in endurance races, Andalusia will be one of his first competitions of the season. "Andalucía Bike Race presented by Shimano is a very good race to face the rest of the season”, says Becking.

Winner of other important MTB stage races, he arrives at the eighth edition of the Andalusian race with the security of keeping a good level in each of the stages and fighting for a good result. "In this type of events it’s very important to take care of yourself. Eat well, take a nap every day and above all, listen to your body to be prepared for anything”, advises Becking.

Since it’s such an early race in the international calendar, we have to be realistic in terms of our shape”, explains a Hans who assures that the first stage’s time trial will serve to measure in which shape each one arrives. He has competed since he was 14 and all these seasons of experience have helped him to know his possibilities better than anyone: “February is a month where my form is already very good”, so he could be one of the main contenders to the victory.

Hans has heard very good opinions of Andalucía Bike Race presented by Shimano and since a month ago he is in the DMT Racing Team by Marconi. Having the winner of the last two editions of the Andalusian race as a team mate is an extra for him. “I've only been on the team for a month and I've learned a lot, they teach me fast, so even though I'm expecting a difficult fight, we are ready as a team," concludes Hans Becking.

We’ll see Becking’s debut in Andalucía Bike Race presented by Shimano next February 25th in the time trial along Linare’s mining district.
