Blaza Pintaric: “Everybody will fight his own fears”

She hardly needs any introduction. Reviewing his victories, you can sense the high level of Blaza Pintaric. She is currently leader in the World Marathon Series ranking, Champion, Runner-up and third in the European Marathon Championship as well as twice runner-up and third in the World Championship. She will make her debut in this event and we will probably see her potential day by day in Andalucia.

This will be the first time we see you participating in Andalucía Bike Race presented by Caja Rural Jaén. What do you expect from this event?

I’m very happy to get chance to participate on 2020 Andalucía Bike Race – as it is the 10th edition and I believe it will be something special. I get some info about your race from riders and Sergio (Mantecon) told me it is technical hard and in case of bad weather extremely hard race. So, I expect to match with best ladies in peloton.

You are, without a doubt, one of the favourites for the final victory. Does this put more pressure on you?

No, results never put pressure on me. I’m good with that, I always do my maximum on race, I’m usually more worry about course, weather or technical problems on my bike...

What is your goal or purpose in this race?

As for every race, I will be happy to do podium, but because of length of the race with six days on technical terrain, I will be happy if nothing bad had happened. The best lady will win.

Where do you think the key to fighting for the final victory might be?

I don’t know any of stages – so I think simply - riders with most consistent day by day performance without any technical problems will win the race. Every biker will need luck to battle course, own expectation, own nervous, no matter if he or she start race to win it or just to finish it. Everybody will fight his own fears.

What has led you to participate in this tenth edition of Andalucía Bike Race presented by Caja Rural Jaén?

I heard about Andalusia Bike Race years ago, my friends did it, but somehow in past Andalucia Bike Race presented by Caja Rural Jaén share same date with other races. Every year I did winter and spring training camps in Spain, so it will be great.
