Johnny Cattaneo: "I'd like to get a stage success...or two if I can"

If we are talking about XCM specialists, we must talk indisputably about Johnny Cattaneo. At his 38 years old, the Lombard cyclist is a regular in the top positions in this type of races. For the third time he visits Andalucía Bike Race presented by Caja Rural Jaén to start the season in the best possible way.

This will be your third participation in Andalucía Bike Race presented by Caja Rural Jaén. What makes you to participate again year after year?

I really like Andalucia as a region of Spain to visit...And to ride it on a MTB is a great way to really discover it! I would also add that the period, the off-road routes and your temperatures are a great reason to start the racing season.

What do you remember about the other two editions?

The last edition in which I participated (2 years ago), I remember there were days with a lot of rain... But I liked rolling on the roads in this area.

What is your goal in this year’s edition?

In my mind, but also in that of many other riders I think, I'd like to get a stage success...or two if I can!

And what about your team? How does the Wilier Force 7C MTB Team face this tenth edition?

Our team is now training in Gran Canaria to prepare for this event... We are very motivated and have a good chance to get a good result with my teammates... We're sure we'll have fun!

What advice would you give to any participant who comes here for the first time?

The Andalucía Bike Race presented by Caja Rural Jaén offers an opportunity to live a very beautiful and varied territory. I would recommend to enjoy all this to those who, for the first time in the race.
