Antonio Ortiz, new head of routes of Andalucía Bike Race presented by Caja Rural Jaén

Professional biker from 1998 to 2006 he’s an expert of this event, joins the technical team

The incorporation to the team of Antonio Ortiz is, without any doubt, one of the great novelties of the last weeks in key ABR2020. Professional biker for almost a decade, this natural cyclist from Ojén will be in charge of preparing, reviewing and specifying the routes for this tenth edition.

"What we’ve looked for this year is that all the participants can find a mix of the most mythical and famous tracks of the nine previous editions. There will be stages for all tastes and what has been sought from the organization is to find stability and balance for all audiences. There will be very hard stages for climbers, in combination with flat parts and other techniques for the most purist of the MTB.”

The Spanish XCM runner-up in 2004 and international with the Spanish National Team has great experience in our event after having participated in four editions. That’s why it is a profile and a figure, more than adequate, to search for spectacular routes.

"For the ones who are making their debut, there are four very different locations. A very hard time trial in Jaén with a point of technique and fun. The second stage will descend the mythical Yeti track, for example, with spectacular views over the environment of Jaén. Already in the area of Andújar, we have tried to vary some sections, but with the same essence of the same years with an incredible environment. The cyclist who has not come will love it"

After more than 25 years in the world of MountainBike, Antonio Ortiz comes to the ABR2020 team to contribute with his experience and his vast knowledge to this leading event in the world of cycling.
