STAGE 2. 71,3 km & 2.190 m+ (XCM) | 26.02.2019

The second stage will also be in Jaén capital will stand out for really diverse ups and downs, enjoying the surroundings of Sierra Mágina. We will find ourselves with a very progressive start with a first ascent towards Pegalajar where we will contemplate the sea of olive trees characteristic of this area of Jaén, being able to observe in the kilometre 15 how a typical village of Sierra Mágina looks, where the white houses stand out.

Next, we will ride through the Paraje del Bercho with ups and downs, trails covered in the last edition that we did in Jaén in 2016 to the environment of the Sierra del Almadén in Mancha Real. From this point we will observe Sierra Mágina with vegetation marked by pines and almond trees. From a technical point of view it will be a very pedaling stage with very fluid path sections and a super-fast exit to Pegalajar. As in the previous stage, we will start from the historic center of Jaén, arriving at the highest point in the middle of the stage, at Almadén peak, located in the Natural Park of Sierra Mágina, reaching up to 1,300 meters of ascent. The final stretch will stand out because of a descent from Mancha Real towards the municipal district of La Guardia facing the last ascent from the Puente Jontoya neighborhood, which extends along the river valley of Jaén.
