A successful first Andalucía eBike Ride

E-bikes have captured the spotlight to open the ninth annual Andalucía Bike Race presented by Caja Rural Jaén. More than 35 people were able to enjoy the magnificent trails from the cockpit of an e-bike during a preview stage that spanned 30 km and allowed the riders the same experience as professional mountain bikers. The route introduced the dirt roads of the Sierra de Andújar mountains. The day began at the Municipal Sports Center and, after a brief tour of Jaén’s city center, the riders began the climb to the San Ginés hermitage, where the feed zone was located.

The bravest riders continued on to summit the Santuario de la Virgen de la Cabeza while another group returned by way of a technical descent, in which the e-bikes added an extra adrenaline spike to navigating the winding path.

After completing the stage, all participants enjoyed a refreshment at the Palacio de los Niños de Don Gome, courtesy of the City Council of Andújar.
